MHS standouts shine once again, Page 8
The stars came out Dec. 8 at a lavish ceremony at the Merrimack Valley Golf Club as Methuen honored generations of sports history by inducting 14 athletes, coaches and outstanding contributors into the Methuen High School Athletic Hall of Fame. Shining Hall of Fame cups were presented to the city’s sports legends by former longtime principal Arthur Nicholson, Methuen sports supporter Ray Pilat and Methuen Athletic Director and former coach Jim Weymouth. Inductee acceptance speeches were, in turn, emotionally heartfelt and oftentimes rich in stories that illustrated the power and importance that sports, coaches, mentors and teammates have played in their lives.
